Dr. Vaughn has created an effective tool in understanding and combating the destructive force pornography has become. This insightful publication offers scriptural direction on how to break free of pornography's addictive hold. The bible says in James 1:13-15 “Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust. Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death.” Pornography is invading many homes and destroying families. Porn is looked at as entertainment today, but we must be aware that it is a drug that will eventually destroys everyone who takes its' path.  The following titles are discussed in the book:

* What Is Pornography?
* The Most Common Forms of Porn
* Three Categories of Addiction
* The Reason We're So Vulnerable
* Why People Continue to Look
* Five Harmful Effects of Porn
* How to Break Free

Here is a exerpt from the book:

How To Break Free from Pornography

Someone addicted to pornography will probably not listen if told to give it up. Someone not into pornography may listen if told to stay away from it. Someone enslaved to pornography definitely will not listen if told to give it up. To understand the root of this sin, you must understand something about temptation.

“Let no one say when he is tempted,
“I am being tempted by God”; for
God cannot be tempted by evil, and
He Himself does not tempt anyone.
But each one is tempted when he is
carried away and enticed by his own
lust. Then when lust has conceived,
it gives birth to sin; and when sin is
accomplished, it brings forth death.”
James 1:13-15

Temptation begins with an evil desire. If yielded to it becomes sin, and sin the Bible says, eventually leads to death.
  • Desire
  • Sin
  • Death
The goal is to stop at the desire stage. Sheer will power will not break a sexual addiction. Sometimes the harder you try to stop; the harder it becomes to resist. Thankfully, there is a way to break the addiction.
